This is a 17.463 mm diameter Ceramic bearing ball. This is a Grade 20 Si3N4 Silicon Nitride ceramic ball. These balls were made to 20 micrometer precision, hence make rotation in machines incredibly smooth. Compared to metal balls, ceramic balls provide higher stiffness, lower thermal expansion, lighter weight, increased corrosion resistance, and higher electrical resistance.
The Si3N4 ceramic has an operating temperature of 1400 C, making it the perfect material for ultra high temperature applications
